The Sufi Tradition
The foundation of our spiritual endeavors rests on the practice of ceaselessly remembering God in thought, word and deed. The guiding principles of the Nimatullahi Sufi order are firmly rooted in the Middle Eastern tradition of chivalry (futuwwa in Arabic and javanmardi in Persian). In these traditions, relationships between members of society were based primarily on selfless service and consideration for others.
Under the leadership and initiative of Dr. Alireza Nurbakhsh, the current Master of the Nimatullahi Sufi order, the order has established charitable projects in each of its Sufi centers around the world. The purpose of these projects is to help meet the social and economic needs of our respective communities.
